Mark a certificate as disputed
When a certificate on one of your lots looks wrong, mark it as disputed with a reason and evidence. The mark shows wherever the certificate does and the issuer is told; it still counts until the issuer withdraws it.
A certificate on one of your lots can be wrong: it belongs to another lot, its figures do not match the lab report, or its issuer was not allowed to issue it. Only the issuer can withdraw it, but your company can say openly that it disagrees: Mark as disputed puts your reason and evidence next to the certificate and tells the issuer.
Who may dispute a certificate
The company's owner and administrators, with a fresh second factor: the console asks for your code when you send it. The mark shows at once; it does not wait for an approval.
Mark a certificate as disputed
- Open Certificates, select On the lots, open the menu of the certificate's row and select Mark as disputed. On the lot's page, the same choice is in the certificate's row menu.
- Choose the Category: Wrong lot, Wrong information, Document not valid, Issuer not authorized for this, Suspected fraud or Other.
- Write the Reason, from 10 to 2,000 characters. The issuer reads it.
- Add at least one piece of Evidence, up to 10: documents you upload, links starting with https, or notes.
- Send it and enter your code.
What happens next
- The certificate shows Disputed by ‹your company› everywhere it shows: on the lot's page, in the Certificates list and in Technical lots.
- The issuer is told. Another company on A-REX is told on A-REX. An issuer that is not on A-REX you tell yourself; its contact from your directory is shown when you have one.
- The certificate still counts until its issuer withdraws it: rules and buyers keep accepting it.
Only the issuer withdraws a certificate
Your company cannot withdraw a certificate it did not sign. Withdraw only shows on certificates signed by your company or by a party whose account your company keeps. For any other, mark it as disputed and ask the issuer to withdraw it. See Withdraw a certificate.
Withdraw a dispute
Open Certificates and select Disputes, or open the certificate's row menu, and choose Withdraw dispute. A reason is optional. The mark goes away, the dispute and its history stay on record, and the issuer is told.
If your company issued the certificate
When another company disputes a certificate your company signed, you are notified: "A certificate is marked as disputed". In Certificates, Disputes lists it under About certificates you signed, with the company, the lot, the type, the category, the reason, links and notes, and the number of documents. The documents stay with the company that raised it. If it is right, withdraw the certificate.
