Help

The public part of the A-REX Platform help: guides, key ideas and questions, from the same source as the help in the console.

These articles are the public part of the help that A-REX Platform shows inside its console: step-by-step guides first, then the key ideas behind them, then answers to common questions. They come from the same source as the help in the console and follow it when it changes.

Where an article names a page or a button of the console, it is written in bold. The console itself links each article to the page where the task is done. Articles are shown in the languages the console's help is translated into; the others open in English.

For an overview of what the platform does, read the Platform pages first.

Add farms, plots and warehouses

Add the places where your lots are grown, stored and processed, and the geolocation the EUDR asks for as location evidence.

04

Set up your products

Build your catalog of what you trace, with the commodity code of your country, the unit you see it in and how long a lot keeps.

05

Register your first lot

Record a harvest or a lot you receive, see what goes on the ledger and what stays private, and send it for approval.

06

Approve what your team sends

Read an approval as one sentence, check what it affects and its risks, and approve or reject it with two-factor.

07

Deliver a lot

Hand a lot, or part of it, to a customer, warehouse or processor, and see what happens when the receiver is not yet allowed to receive lots.

08

Split, merge and process lots

Divide or combine lots, or dry, roast or mill them into new products, while every new lot keeps the link to where it came from.

09

Attach lab results and certificates

Add a lab result or a certificate to a lot, see how trusted issuers and expiry work, and read the evidence level of each certificate.

10

Trace a lot and prepare a recall

Follow a lot back to its farm and forward to everyone who holds part of it, work out a recall's scope, and check lots received from suppliers.

11

Reports and signed documents

Generate EUDR and FSMA 204 packs and other reports as signed documents, and let anyone check a copy on the public verification page.

12

Connect your ERP and other systems

Let your ERP send harvests and deliveries to A-REX and receive events back, with your own identifiers, and try it all in a sandbox first.

13

Export a lot's passport (UNTP)

Send buyers and manufacturers a lot's product passport and traceability events in the UN Transparency Protocol format, as signed documents.

14

Automate routine work

Build automations that read as When, If, Then on a canvas, test them safely, have them switched on by an owner or admin, and follow every run.

15

Dashboards

See your lots, deliveries, certificates and approvals at a glance, with ready-made lenses, personal and company dashboards, and numbers taken from your records.

16

Work with the assistant

What the assistant can do for you, why it only proposes while people approve, how its answers cite the help, and what happens to your data.

20

Work with your suppliers and customers

Connect with the companies you trade with, choose what each side shares, receive their lots with their evidence, ask a supplier for missing evidence, and recall lots that may be affected across companies.

21

Company values and calculations in automations

Named numbers such as an emission factor, set once per company or per product, and how an automation calculates a value from a lot quantity, in any unit, and shows its working.

22

Custody, in plain words

Who holds the keys that can change your company's records, the two custody options, and what A-REX can never do without you.

23

Declared carbon footprints

Attach the carbon footprint a third party calculated for a product or a lot, from its PACT file or report. A-REX shows who calculated and who verified it, and never calculates one.

24

EUDR, the EU Deforestation Regulation

The facts of Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 that matter for your lots, and how the console helps you collect the information. Not legal advice.

25

Evidence levels

Every certificate and lot registration says who stands behind it. The level tells buyers and auditors how much weight a fact carries.

26

Find your way around the console

The header with the company picker, the side menu and its sections, your profile panel with language and theme, and the banners that appear above a page.

27

FSMA 204, the US food traceability rule

The facts of the FDA Food Traceability Rule that matter for your lots, and how the console helps you keep the records. Not legal advice.

28

How a proposal gets executed

The five steps from a request to its record on the ledger, what each waiting state means, who signs, and what to do when a proposal fails.

29

Lots

A lot is a quantity of one product you can follow from its origin to its buyer, with its holders, status, certificates and lineage.

30

Ready-made dashboards for EUDR, suppliers, traceability and data quality

What the EUDR exposure, Suppliers, Traceability, Harvest and processing and Data quality dashboards show, and where each number comes from.

31

Reports for exporters, suppliers and plots

Which report answers which question: a shipment's EUDR pack, your farms register, supplier evidence, volumes, a certification audit pack, supplier footprints, your group's companies together and what to fix.

32

Roles

What owners, admins, operators, approvers, auditors and viewers can do in a company, and who needs two-factor.

33

The group's product catalog

What the group decides for its companies' products and what each company keeps, and how a product of the catalog gets the code of each country.

34

Trusted issuers

Your company decides which labs and certifiers it trusts for each type of certificate. See who is trusted, and what changes when you stop trusting one.

35

Units and quantities

Why lots are recorded in kilograms, litres or pieces, how you can type tonnes, bags or bushels, and what to do with a lot recorded in whole tonnes.

36

What the ledger records, and what it does not

The ledger keeps a permanent, dated record of who declared what about your lots. It holds no personal data, and corrections are new records.

37

Can I record a lot that is not harvested yet?

Record a crop that is sold before it is harvested, such as a forward sale or a crop receivable. The lot reads "Not yet harvested" until you record the harvest day.

38

Check that a lot's information has not been changed

Each version of a lot's information has a fingerprint recorded on the ledger. Anyone can recompute it from the published information and compare, without an account and without relying on A-REX.

39

How do I add my own certificate type?

Name a certificate your company works with that is not among the standard types, such as a soil analysis or a buyer's quality protocol. It is then offered everywhere you pick a certificate type.

40

How do I correct a lot's information?

Fix a wrong name, lot code, quantity, date, origin or quality grade in a lot's information. The corrected version replaces the current one once approved, and the earlier version stays on record.

41

How do I deliver several lots in one delivery?

Send several lots, each with its own quantity, from one account to one receiver in a single delivery. The lot rules check every lot, and every lot goes or none does.

42

How do I freeze part of a lot or move it by legal order?

On a court order, a recall or an authority request, freeze part of a lot a holder keeps, or move it. A reason and a legal reference are required, two of your people sign, and the holder is told.

43

How do I put a lot on hold, mark it unfit or close it?

Stop a lot while you check something, block it after a failed analysis, close it for good or release it again. Each change is approved by a person and kept in the lot's story.

44

How do I remove a quantity from the records?

Record goods that were lost, spoiled, destroyed, used up outside a processing or handed over outside the records, with the reason. Once approved, that quantity leaves the records for good.

45

How do I stop all deliveries, and resume them?

Stop every delivery of your company at once, after a mistake or while something is checked. An owner or administrator asks with a reason, it is approved, everyone concerned is told, and deliveries resume the same way.

46

How do I withdraw a certificate?

Withdraw a certificate that was replaced, issued by mistake or not confirmed later. It stays on record as withdrawn, and rules and buyers stop treating it as in force.

47

I lost my passkey or my phone

What to do when you lose the device with your owner passkey, a sign-in passkey or your authenticator app, including when you cannot sign in.

48

Mark a certificate as disputed

When a certificate on one of your lots looks wrong, mark it as disputed with a reason and evidence. The mark shows wherever the certificate does and the issuer is told; it still counts until the issuer withdraws it.

49

Something is wrong: how do I report it?

How to report a problem or ask A-REX support a question, exactly what context is sent with it, and how to remove any part of it.

50

Why is my approved action still waiting?

What "waiting for allowlisting", "waiting for permission to process" and "waiting for issuer approval" mean, who acts next, and why it then continues by itself.
